Abstract:
This paper examines the factors influencing the sustainability and failure of rural
health initiatives by conducting a literature review and administering
questionnaires in the regions of Mwanza and Simiyu. The study identifies key
factors responsible for the initiation, sustainability, and failure of such initiatives.
Relationships between these factors and the data obtained from the questionnaires
are analyzed and discussed. The findings from this analysis will be utilized in the
development of a planning tool to aid in the planning and prediction of the
sustainability or failure of health initiatives, particularly in rural areas of Tanzania.
